upgrading u16 ticket to adult for chelsea game

I've just tried to upgrade my youngest sons u16 ticket for the Chelsea game to adult so my eldest boy can go instead, but the ticket office have said they cant do this as my eldest son doesn't have any ticket history, as he hasn't been this season.. if I don't know any other adult season ticket holders or they are all using their tickets how the hell can I use this ticket..?? . she told me to wait until general sale but I wont be guaranteed to get my son's ticket FFS !!

I did what LongLost sugggested for Accrington game and it worked but obviously there wasn't the demand so I wasn't concerned about someone snapping up the ticket.

For other matches I've just queued up at Ticket office before match and upgraded. They've never questioned it.

It is though ridiculous.

Was about to suggest you do what 5th C said.

Buy it now as a kids ticket and upgrade on the day or before.

What LongLost said is also correct. There is the chance though that your ticket could theoretically be sold to a member though before you get online.

Surely you can buy the ticket now and then afterwards just seek to upgrade it? I'd be astonished if at that point they'd say no.

When you apply for away tickets you can use children's season ticket details and upgrade to an adult ticket during the booking process, no additional info needed. Ridiculous you can't do this for home games.

For the Accrington game I waited till they went on members sale, selected adult tickets then assigned them against my kids names and all went through ok

Wait until after 5pm this afternoon, then buy a ticket with that client ref as soon as they go on general sale. It'll allow you to buy an adult ticket with it.

I'm just about to do that Johnson....I've seen stewards behind the turnstiles but I don't think they've ever asked any supporters age before...I'm really fucked off with the ticket office's attitude

One in our group upgrades a kids every game no issue. Don't see how waiting till general sale will help the same person will still be going to the game.

Just buy it as an U16 then jib in with it, no one is checking anyway and besides they'll have more important things to worry about against Chelsea.

just tried that Rossal, explained that to her and she said the stadium operator likes to know the people that are coming into the ground...you couldn't fucking make it up

Just ring up and ask to upgrade a kids ticket to a adult.

There is no reason why they shouldnt do it. It's YOUR season ticket
